Time line Cooks Meeting: 8:00am Chicken Turn in 2:00pm Pork Belly turn in: 2:30pm Rib turn in: 3:00pm Dessert: 3:30pm Awards and Prizes: 5:00pm Each team is responsible for bringing everything needed to cook and compete in the competition except for Ribs, Chicken Thighs, Pork Belly and Turn in Boxes which will be provided for you at the competition. -Outside meats are prohibited except for the dessert category. -Teams are responsible for all ingredients to make their dessert turn in. Each team must have: -Canopy to cover the cooking area and a table for prep. -Hand washing station at your tent. (a water jug, bucket and soap is sufficient) -Please bring a cooler with ice for ingredients requiring refrigeration. -Food safety and cleanliness is a priority and will be checked periodically. -Teams are encouraged to follow basic KCBS guidelines (although this is not a KCBS sanctioned event). -Turn in boxes provided must have green garnish in them to be judged for appearance. -Each box must have a minimum 6 pieces of meat to be judged. -You are allowed 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after turn in time to present your turn in box. -Late turn in will be awarded a score of 0 for that category. -Stuttering John’s Smokehouse will not be held liable for any injury to competitors or damage to their property during the event.
